In the weeks leading to the book fair the children have organised a series of events to encourage reading.

25th of June - Book Swap day

On this day we wrapped up a book and took it to school for a secret swap. Because all the books were wrapped up we could not see what we were getting and that made it fun. Not only because we got a new book but because it was a surprise.

Also we got to dress up as our favourite book character. Even Mr Lyons dressed up as Harry Potter.

"Today a Reader, tomorrow a Leader"

9th to 12th of July - 3pm

In the week preceeding the Book fair, the children will be visited by 4 VIPs from our community who will share a little about their work and also talk about the books they loved as children and what fond memories they have of those books.

Monday - Baroness Heyhoe Flint

Tuesday - Superintendent Mark Payne

Wednesday - Judge Helen Hughes

Thursday - Pilot Mark Reece

Friday, July 6th at 11.30 - Come read with me!

On this day the whole school will stop for 30 minutes to listen to a reader.

There will be a total of 27 books being read at the same time in 27 different places.

A list of the books being read  will be posted on the 4th of July and children will be able to sign up   to the book they want to listen to.

We would like to invite all parents and guardians to come into school and read to the children.

If you have 30 minutes to spare please come and support our children. To do so please fill in your name and the name of the book you would like to read on the letter sent home and return slip to school no later than the 2nd of July. Alternatively you can contact the school office to register your interest.
